SEM Batches Starting from 1st Sep 2012

Hey All,

Google attacks again. Released Panda 3.9 Update

Hey all , I read this article on SearchEngineland that Google is rolling out the latest update to its Panda algorithm.The company posted the news on24th July at around 7:30 pm on Twitter, saying this update will affect about 1% of search results.

Below is what they tweeted:

"New data refresh of Panda starts rolling out tonight. ~1% of search results change enough to notice. More context: goo.gl/huekf "

This is Panda Update 3.9. The previous update, 3.8, which had just occurred about a month ago which was on June 25th.Panda rolled out initially in February 2011 and was designed to remove low-quality/thin content from Google’s search results.

How does Google Analytics Tracking Code Works

I was reading this post and thought of sharing this with you. I have copied some of the part of the original article and posted here and have given a link to the original article...... Its worth reading..

Google Analytics works by the inclusion of a block of JavaScript code on pages in your website. When visitors to your website view a page, this JavaScript code references a JavaScript file which then executes the tracking operation for Analytics. The tracking operation retrieves data about the page request through various means and sends this information to the Analytics server via a list of parameters attached to a single-pixel image request.

Because your website configuration and reporting needs might differ from a standard setup, it's a good idea to understand the general tracking process to ensure that your reports deliver data as you expect. In this way, you can decide how to configure Analytics tracking to best suit your own website.

Google Panda 3.8 Gets Updated again on 25th June 2012

I was just going through searchengineland.com and found this update that Google has again updated Google Panda on 25th June 2012. This is a 3.8 Version. They declared this on Twitter I think Google has decided to remove all the garbage and crap from its search results.


Panda was last time updated was on June 8th and before that on April 26th. Typically, Google pushes out algorithm updates for Panda and Penguin every month or so. While the last Panda update was just over 2 weeks ago, Google felt they wanted to push out a new refresh.

Difference Between Bounce Rate & Exit Rate

I have received many questions about two important metrics in Internet Marketing, Bounce Rate and Exit Rate. It seems there is a lot of confusion about differences between the two

I will tell you what exactly the difference is:

Bounce Rate: It is the percentage of people who visited only a single page of your website and left it. That is called as Bounce. For Ex: XYZ comes on the website, visit the home page and leave the website from there without going on any other page. So he will be counted in Bounce. No matter how time did he wait. Even if he waits on the home page for 1 Hour, then also he will be counted in Bounce

Exit Rate: Exit rate is the percentage of the page from which the visitor left the website. For Ex: XYZ comes on the website, visits the home page, the goes on about us and then on Contact us. So in this case, Contact us page will be counted as EXIT Page reason being, the visitor left the website from the "Contact Us" Page

Also keep one thing in mind, as I said that the person who visits on the home page and leaves the website is counted in bounce, that page (Home page) is also counted in Exit Page.

Google Panda Update 3.7 Released On June 8th 2012

The Rumors which were there in the market about the Panda update are true. Google Official declared the latest Panda Update 3.7 on June 8th which was last friday. Officials from Searchengineland went to google for the confirmation on the same and Google gave them the confirmation.  Google said this refresh has an impact of less than 1% of search queries in the U.S. and about 1% worldwide specifically impacting sites that were originally hit by the Panda update.

The Last update which was done was on April 27th. Google has also said that Google Pen quin will be getting updated every 2-3 months..
