Have Too Many Links Coming From a Single Domain. Worried??

In this article I just wanted to tell people about some thing which they really get scared about. They keep on asking these questions on lot of forums or Q&A. I will tell the answer for that Comman Question.

People Get Worried because they have too many links coming from a Single Domain. Will it harm My Website?

Let it be from a blog or from a site-wide link. Look keep one thing in mind that this is not a problem unless the links are coming from a highly manipulative source. Look if you have 5,000 links coming from a single domain, don't be panic or tensed. This is not going to kill you or is the end of the world. If there is good content and natural reason why those links are pointing towards your domain, its going to help you and will not make any difference to your website or in the search ranking results. Make sure that those links should have a logic to land on your website.

When You need to Worry??

  • If the Links are coming from a spammy or terrible website then that should make a problem.
  • Or you have bought those paid links from them.

So keep in mind always try to create natural links. Search Engines love them.

Google Penguin First Update 1.1 Hits the Web

On Friday, 25th May 2012, Google has released a new Update on Google Penguin. People have started it calling it Penguin Update 1.1. This update has hardly affected any site ranking. Google's Web Spam Head Matt Cutts declared this on Twitter calling it a “data refresh” that impacts less than one-tenth of a percent of English-language searches.

Many websites may have got hit because of the first Penguin Update. So Google has made a separate setup a form for webmasters to use if they believe Penguin had hit their sites by mistake. By this Google will get a kind of feedback as well.

What Exactly is Google Penguin??

What Exactly is Google Penguin?? Google Penguin actually went live on 24th April 2012. Google Penquin is a code name given to Google's new Algorithm in which they are mainly focusing on websites which are practicing Black hat SEO, Keyword Stuffing, things like buying links from High Page Rank websites, link Exchanging , copying content, or duplication of content and other things like Cloaking.
Actually for naming this Algorithm Search Engine Land (Popular Magazine which covers all Online Marketing Updates) had asked suggestions.

Effect of this Algorithm

Google Penguin has affected roughly 3.1% of Search Engine queries in English and 3% of queries in languages like German, Chinese, and Arabic. So guys just keep in mind that Google is trying to say the same things in every algorithm. Please never go for any shortcuts using any kind of automated tools. This tools are a temporary solution. Once Google comes to know it evaluates all the links out of its algorithm and then the website is thrown away from the Top 100. And once the website thrown away from Top 100 its very difficuult to bring it on the Top again. So its better to take time and use Proper and ethical Practices instead of going for shortcuts and getting kicked away later..lol...

Some Imp Tips on How to start SEO for a New Website.

Below are some very Important tips on how to Start SEO for a New Website

A) Always remember, before starting SEO on any website, make sure you do a Website analysis report and mention what are the Current targeted Keywords, Title’s (Meta Tags), URL Structuring, Back links, Page Rank, broken links, Total No of Pages Indexed, Alt tags have been used or not for the images & things to be changed. Also make analysis of Competitor’s website. By this we get a lot of Ideas which we can implement on our own website.

1) Create unique, accurate page titles (each page should have unique title, description). Make use of Bold and Italic characters for important keywords as Bold and italic tells the spiders that the keywords are some thing important.

2) Use Static URL’s for each page instead of Dynamic so it becomes easy for spiders to read the URL.

3) Make use of Sitemap.xml to help google spider and HTML Sitemap on the website for the visitor to Navigate the website easily.

4) Offer Quality & Fresh Content. Keep the website updated and continuously add content so the spider crawling rate increases on the website.

5) Make minimum use of Images, if used then use Image Alt for all the images, so that the spider can understand it.

6) Try not to use flash or Java script as this makes the website loading time increase and also makes problem for spiders to understand or read.

7) While development, make use of H1 – H2 Tags (H1 Should be used only once on a every single page, if absolutely needed then only go for 2 H1 Tags).

8)Create a robots.txt file for blocking the spiders to crawl specific areas of the website.

9) Keep a practice of making single page for every service so that it becomes easy for us to target the keywords and bring it in the top google ranking pages.

10) Keep as much good and quality content you have.

11) Try to give as much information to the visitor about the product or services. (For Ex PDF Brochures, Video’s or PPT’s)

12) Keep a lot of interlinking on the website, so that the visitor remains on the website for a longer time and can navigate on the website easily. This also increases the avg wait time on the website and decreases the bounce rate.

13) Design the website in such a way that the user should not take more then 4 clicks to reach the targeted page.
14) Use no follow, do follow tags where ever necessary.

15) Make sure that the content on the website is not duplicate or copied from some where. Google hammers a lot for that.

16) Once all the pages are ready, do not try to upload all at the same time, for ex: if you create a website of 100 pages, then upload 20 pages each day and not 100 in 1 day, that might make search engines confuse.

17) Use Google Webmaster to check out broken links and replace them ASAP because search engines hate Broken Links.

18) Test the website in different browsers like Mozilla, IE & Safari so that you come to know the Browser Compatibility.

19) At least do directory submissions on more then 400 – 500 directories as they help a lot in back links and search results.

Why do Many People Lack in Learning On Page SEO??

I have heard from many people that they are working in SEO or SMO profile from last 6 months, 1 Year,  2 Years but still don't know proper On Page SEO.  What's the reason behind that? Has any one tried to find that??

What All is there in On Page SEO???

There are many reasons for the same. Below are some reasons which I have observed and experienced.

Many people don't show interest in learning new things.

They feel it very boring reading big articles.

Some people try reading the articles but don't understand it properly and loose interest from it.

Many people are there who join SEO Trainings in a lot of Enthusiasm and enery but once the Training is finished they stop practicing, get confused again and then loose interest.

Some People thing that Advanced SEO or Learning SEO is a big Challenge and needs a lot of technical Knowledge and then leave the Topic.

Some say they are ready to learn but they don't get enough time or don't have internect connection or PC at home.

2) The Biggest Reason - Many Small Companies don't let their employees go beyond a specific skill set. For Ex: If you are Hired as a SEO and have been given Off Page Activity then the Company will not allow you or does not show you further advance things. For that they keep some other person. Like for On Page they will keep some one senior who will decide all the On Page activities and manage Advanced Tools like Google Analytics, Google Webmaster and many such.
Reason being : Many Companies think that if they teach all the advance techniques to their employees then their employees may learn all the things and look for a good profile job and leave the current Company.

What is the Solution for this???

You will get everything on Google. Just try to find the correct information and read it. If you feel reading is too boring then watch SEO related video's on Youtube. You will find a lot of stuff over there.

You even don't need any Training or course for this. Just give your 1 hour every day & dedication. This is very tuff, but there is no other way you can learn it.

Reading is very easy but doing practically teaches you a lot. Make a blog in blogger, try to implement things which you have learned. Blogger is free. Make use of it.

Try to find things like SEO Tips, SEO Interview Questions, SEO Puzzles on the internet. Try to solve them. If you don't understand any term, search that term again in Google. For Ex: I am reading SEO Questions and get a question "What is HT Access files" Try to find in Google what is HT Access files and you will get a number of websites coming up with great information.

Practice doing Mock Interview test standing in front of a mirror. Increase your confidence.

Never get afraind while giving an interview. Moving your legs, moving your body tells the interviewer about your body language. Be confident. If you give any wrong answer the interviewer is not going to kill you. What the max will happen is, you will not get selected. But at least you will get experience.

If your Communication is weak, the read a good english news paper daily for 15 -20 minutes.

Always remember one basic thing that till the time you don' give a push to yourself, you will never grow in any industry.

Keep in mind that SEO is not hard but its very vast. There is difference in Hard and Vast. Thing on this once again

SEO does not need a hard core technical Knowledge. If you have good technical knowledge then its well and good and will be a added advantage for you.

Try all given above things and I am sure you will become a SEO Champion very soon.

5 Best Practices of Interlinking and their Benefits

You must have come through a lot of articles where you find links in them. Interlinks play a very important role from the point of SEO. I will tell you some best practices of Interlinking and their benefits.

1) A website with good, interlinked webpages makes it easier for its users to find out good, relevant information within itself.
2) It also helps the search engines to crawl it with a better ‘big picture’ of what your website is all about and how it is structured and related with each other.
3) Internal linking is one method that SEO specialists use to distribute good, relevant Page rank to each webpage that are related to each other’s content.
4) The long the visitor waits on the website, the longer is “Website Visit Time”" and the lower the “Bounce Rate”.
5) Inbound links are a great way to rank better. As we all know, the more back-links/inbound links you have, the more Page rank juice you have flowing inside your website.
Below is an Example to get better understanding:
You go to a Book store which has lots of other branches. You’re looking for the “SEO Expert Book” – but they told you that they only have “SEM and SMO Books” in this store and the SEO Expert Book is in the other stores which you have to find out for yourself. Ain’t that a bummer? Why do you have to go to all the other stores just to find the other Books when they own all of those Books anyway? And why can’t they direct you to the other stores instead of you having to look for it yourself?
In the above Scenario, If the Book Store would have given a link for the SEO Expert Book store then it would have made the buyers job easy.
Wikipedia is one of the Best Examples for Interlinking
